Projects to upgrade critical infrastructure inside of research facilities come with their own set of challenges. ING rose to the occasion for this project to upsize and modernize the steam system serving one of Augusta University’s research facilities. We took a phased approach with our design to minimize downtime while replacing the two, 250 horsepower, steam boilers and the feed water system. The two, new, 300 horsepower boilers and deaerator system meet the facilities increased steam demands and the upgraded boiler room controls ensure that all of the components are operating together for improved reliability, staging and efficiency.
